Author Guidelines

Authors are required to carefully read and follow these guidelines before submitting a manuscript to Assabaq: Jurnal Pengkajian Islam dan Pemikiran Islam.

General Requirements

  1. The manuscript must be an original scholarly work and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
  2. The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of the journal.
  3. Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian, English, or Arabic using appropriate academic language.
  4. The manuscript should contain approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, notes, and references.
  5. The manuscript must be prepared using the official journal template.
  6. Authors must remove names, affiliations, and other identifying information from the manuscript file to support the double-blind peer-review process.
  7. All authors must enter complete and accurate metadata in the OJS submission system.

Author Information

Each author must provide the following information:

  • Full name without academic title;
  • Institutional affiliation;
  • Country;
  • Active email address;
  • ORCID ID, where available;
  • Google Scholar profile, where available; and
  • A short biographical statement.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain:

  1. Title;
  2. Abstract;
  3. Keywords;
  4. Introduction;
  5. Research Method;
  6. Results and Discussion;
  7. Conclusion;
  8. Acknowledgments, where applicable;
  9. Author Contributions;
  10. Conflict of Interest Statement; and
  11. References.

Title

The title must be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the manuscript. Authors should avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

Abstract

The abstract must contain approximately 150–250 words and briefly describe the research background, objectives, methods, principal findings, and conclusions.

Manuscripts written in Indonesian should include abstracts in Indonesian and English.

Keywords

Authors must provide three to five keywords or phrases representing the main topics of the manuscript. Separate each keyword with a semicolon.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and provided with clear titles or captions. Sources must be acknowledged where applicable.

Citations and References

Authors are encouraged to use a reference management application such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

References should follow the citation style specified in the official journal template. Authors should prioritize relevant, current, and reputable scholarly sources.

Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's online submission system. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information and files are complete and accurate.

Revision

Authors receiving a revision decision must submit:

  1. A revised manuscript;
  2. A response-to-reviewers document; and
  3. A clear explanation of the revisions made.

The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines.
