Publication Ethics

Dakwatuna: Jurnal Komunikasi, Dakwah dan Pemikiran Islam is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, accountability, and high ethical standards in scholarly publishing.

This statement explains the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

Duties of Authors

1. Submit original work that has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
2. Present research findings accurately and honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
3. Properly cite and acknowledge all sources used in the manuscript.
4. Ensure that all listed authors have made meaningful contributions to the research and approved the submitted version.
5. Disclose potential conflicts of interest and all sources of funding.
6. Obtain appropriate ethical approval and informed consent when required.
7. Promptly notify the editor when a significant error is discovered in a submitted or published article.

Plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, ghost authorship, guest authorship, and other forms of academic misconduct are prohibited.

Duties of Editors

1. Evaluate manuscripts fairly based on academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution.
2. Make editorial decisions without discrimination.
3. Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
4. Avoid using unpublished information for personal benefit.
5. Declare and manage conflicts of interest.
6. Select qualified and independent reviewers.
7. Investigate allegations of misconduct objectively and confidentially.
8. Publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.

Duties of Reviewers

1. Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.
2. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and review process.
3. Decline the review when the manuscript is outside their expertise or cannot be completed on time.
4. Identify relevant scholarly work that has not been properly cited.
5. Avoid personal criticism and unsupported statements.
6. Declare any potential conflict of interest.
7. Never use unpublished information for personal research or benefit.

Duties of the Publisher

Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Persatuan Islam Jakarta, as the publisher, supports editorial independence and is committed to safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record. The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions based on commercial, personal, or institutional interests.

Research and Publication Misconduct

Reports of suspected misconduct will be investigated confidentially, objectively, and fairly. Appropriate actions may include rejecting the manuscript, requesting a correction, retracting a published article, publishing an expression of concern, or notifying the author's institution where necessary.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors, reviewers, and readers may submit complaints or appeals to the editorial office at dakwatuna@journal.staipijakarta.ac.id. Complaints and appeals will be handled objectively by an editor who was not directly involved in the disputed decision.
